Yesterday’s march from Copley Square through downtown Boston drew a few hundred participants. The mood was more somber than at last week’s chant-filled protest. This time it was a funeral procession, marching with coffins.

With deaths mounting – more than half of them civilian, according to most credible accounts – adjustments were necessary in last week’s signs.

At Downtown Crossing, the mix of marchers and shoppers is always somewhat jarring.

At Boston Common, tourists and others passing by took notice.

A lot of Americans retain some hope that Barack Obama will change US policy on Israel and Palestine.

I retain my skepticism.
